This Fire & Emergency training course delivers the nationally recognised units:

  • PUAFER005 – Operate as Part of an Emergency Control Organisation
  • PUAFER006 – Lead an Emergency Control Organisation

This course is designed for individuals assigned as Fire Wardens and Chief Wardens within their workplace’s Emergency Control Organisation (ECO). Participants will learn to safely manage, respond to, and lead others during emergency events such as fire, chemical spills, or evacuations.

Entry Requirements

Online Study Requirements: Access to a device with internet capability


Assessment Requirements

Participants will complete:

Practical Tasks:

  • Pre-emergency planning
  • Emergency response simulations
  • Evacuation coordination
  • Use of communication systems

Documentation Tasks:

  • Emergency evacuation and debrief forms
  • Fault logs
  • Emergency plans and procedures

Theory Assessment:

  • Multiple-choice and short-answer written questions

All assessments must be completed satisfactorily to achieve competency.


Certificate Renewal

While these units do not have mandatory expiry dates, it is recommended that refresher training be completed every 2 years to maintain competency and awareness of current procedures.
