Course Description
CPR Course (HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
Equips participants with the skills and knowledge to respond to cardiac and breathing-related emergencies. It covers how to perform CPR on adults, children, and infants, including the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). The training is hands-on, practical, and scenario-based, aligned with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.
Course Delivery
This course can be delivered/assessed in the workplace or at facility organised by the training provider.

Course Durations
Course durations can vary for multiple reasons, so the durations below are the minimum possible amount.
Refresher Face to Face contact time of at least 1 Hour 30 Mins
Blended Face to Face contact time of at least 1 Hour 30 Mins
Face-to-Face Face to Face contact time of at least 2 Hours
Online with face-to-face assessment Face to Face contact time of at least 20 Mins
Entry Requirements
Physical Capacity: Ability to perform all practical demonstrations, including two minutes of continuous CPR on the floor and rescue-breathing techniques on manikins.
Online Study: Access to an internet-enabled device (computer, smartphone, tablet or similar) to complete the pre-course online modules

Assessment Requirements

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.

Certificate Renewal Requirements
This certificate has an industry recommended renewal period of 12 months

Assessment Activities

Performance tasks and practical scenarios:
Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position)
Perform CPR on an infant
Theory assessment: A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions.
